AT&T’s High-Speed Internet on Fast Track to Orlando

AT&T’s high speed internet service, GigaPower, is on its way to Orlando. According to the AT&T GigaMap, showing U-Verse GigaPower connected cities, development in bringing GigaPower to Orlando is already underway.

To give you an idea of just how fast GigaPower could be, AT&T blogger Joey Schultz provided the following metrics for download speeds in an August 31st blog post:

25 songs in 1 second
1 TV Show in 3 seconds
1 HD Movie in 36 seconds
AT&T first reached these speeds in Austin, in 2013. The service has grown into 15 markets over the past two years, with more markets under development, and others being explored for future development.

“We’re excited to launch our ultra-high speed Internet service to local consumers and employers here in the Orlando area,” said Joe York, president of AT&T Florida, in a news release posted on the company’s website. “The AT&T GigaPower network will help promote economic development in the area by facilitating a new wave of innovation through enhanced opportunities for education, health, research and small business growth.”
